As Promised, the new board is here: http://www.pagga.net/cgi-bin/vBulletin_v3/.
We're still moving the furniture around and putting the curtains up. However, there are few more changes to the site.
We've had to impose some rules. Basically, by posting on the board, or using Pagga, you're agreeing to abide by them:
Forum Rules
Registration to this forum is free! We do insist that you abide by the rules and policies detailed below. If you agree to the terms, please check the 'I agree' checkbox and press the 'Register' button below. If you would like to cancel the registration, click here to return to the forums index.
The owners of Pagga (aka Pagga, or Pagga Admin) require that you follow these rules:
1) No Direct Personal Attacks On Other Posters. By this we mean don’t go out your way to single out users and cause them distress, (yes that does mean you can ‘rib’ your friends, but when they ask you to stop, you must do so.)
We want healthy, intelligent debate, not playground hair pulling and insults. Statements that would lead common members of the public to hold the target of that statement in ridicule or contempt are right out, and if deemed by Pagga to be libellous, will be removed within 48 hours.
2) You must be 13 or over in order to register on Pagga. We use robust language and like to talk about adult topics, so we actively discourage children from using the board. By registering, you’re confirming that you are 13 years of age or over.
3) Should you feel bullied or intimidated by another Pagga user, please tell either a moderator, the admin, or send an email to Pagga@pagga.net. Pagga will then ask three people it trusts and who are not directly connected to the complaint to see if it is valid, and take appropriate action.
4) Pagga reserves the right to ban you from using our board at any point. If banned, you must not post on the board, use any of Pagga’s functions, or ask someone to post on your behalf. Upon being banned, Pagga reserves the right to charge you for our time if you do not obey the ban.
5) Pagga hates censorship, and you can say whatever you like. You can even swear, but please remember that foul language increases the likelihood that certain 'work filters' will block access to the site, reducing the number of people who can use the board, and that no one is impressed by foul language. Please think before you use profanity.
6) All contributed content (for example, posts) on Pagga that are dated on or after the 29th of April, 2004, are considered Public Domain, unless otherwise stated.
If you wish to claim Copyright on your posts, you must put ©
Copyright on content produced before that date belongs to the user who produced it.
7) Don’t take the piss
8) All messages express the views of the authors, and neither the owners of Pagga.com, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message. Pagga reserves the right to delete any post as it sees fit.
Pagga will be down for the next day or so while we upgrade the software, chase out the server demons and perform all the dark rites that modern computing demands.
In the meantime, here's some stuff to keep you entertained.
For those who need some intelligent debate, you can do a lot worse than the very fine looking: Barbelith (some day, Pagga will be this slick).
For sheer distraction value, there's:
Pong: The Text-Based Game
Chess Boxing
Observation Games
And the worlds cheapest but least worthwhile MMPORG
For those of you who still need a daily LRP fix theres:
Yahoo's uklrpevents
Live Journal's LRP_UK
The USA's Larplist.
And the Grand-Daddy ofthe UK scene, Aldebarran
Funny because it's true: Charver.
But then parts of the North East have always been a place to observe the descent of evolution, though maybe in such an extreme way.
In utterly unrelated nonsense, Americans, why vote for Bush when you can have an even more obvious lunatic likeThe High King in power?
And finally:
Midgard is back. First game on the 9th of May. *does Snoopy dance*
Boogieman Game's own Smitt is up for an award for LRP dude of the year. And god-damn does he look cool in that photo.
Well by Saturday night I shall hopefully all be moved into my new home in the sunny London hamlet of Tooting, well known for it's hero's of the revolution. My excuse for posting on here when I could be packing is lack of boxes and being in an odd sort of mood.
It's very odd to be leaving, despite all the stress and hassle living here has been over the past four or five months. My beloved suggests I might be thinking that I have failed to resolve the situation, possibly, I am after all a sucker for martyring myself for a cause. But I must have learned something as I did finally make the decision that I can't save people from themselves and to get the hell out of there. Progress of a sort I hope.
Other news, work stress my actually be resolving itself as we're beginning to adjust to the new improved site, my team seem to be asking fewer questions about how it all works which could be a good or bad thing. I'm choosing to believe that they actually know how stuff works, which is good as some of the cack handed hacks that are running some of the site are still giving me the fear. But at least even my boss and the developers agree that those bits are crap and need fixing, now if only they could tell me when they will be fixed. Me going mad and murdering people with an axe if they are not fixed is apparently not reason enough to get them classed as critical. Ho Hum.
We're also apparently getting a new temporary boss while mine is off on long term sick leave, it's only taken them six months. But I'm not going to rant about that as apparently everyone thinks I've done a good job managing the section, weird when I'm still jumping when people come and talk to me in case I've fvked up big style. Confidence? Well I haven't gone mad yet...well not entirely. Will be nice to be able just to get on with stuff and have some of this clan of monkeys off my back.
I think I could handle a bit a rest next week. *falls over*
I'd forgotten all about this project: The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath: the Movie. Could be shit, but fuck it, it's taken it's inspiration from al the right places, so it should be intersting if nothing else.
With this picture of Randolph Carter as inspiration, how can it be bad?
One for the lovely Mr Raffles: Christ Killer. Wear it with pride, and demand your money back from Mel Gibson, even if you haven't seen his snuff movie.
Apparently, this comic is worth $75,000. But it has crap art, a poor story line and the cover isn't die-cut and laced with toxic waste. There's not even a picture of an unfeasibly breasted lady on the front. What is the world coming to, I ask you?
Even thugs are getting it the neck these days. They can't even do a simple thing like spit in the face of public transport workers without fear of reprisal.
And finally, right wing pamphlet, The Metro features roleplayers. It's even in the good bit of the paper.
Obligatory Maelstrom comment: It was ace, but then you know that already. Samurai badgers rock, and we got to kick arse and take names, but mostly because we're less like badgers and more like heavily armoured pandas.
Anyway, you're probably sick of the Maelfroth, so I'll stop.
Obligatory link: Calvin and Hobbes versus Fight Club.
And finally: Compulsory Meme:
If you would like to, ask me three questions, no more no less.
Ask me anything you want. I'll answer truthfully, as well as I'm able - answers may be a simple yes/no.
Then I want you to go to your journal, copy and paste this allowing your friends (including myself) to ask you anything (assuming I didn't copy this from you).
Ok the problem with the General LRP forum is not going to be fixed tonight, which means it will have to wait until at least tuesday as I'm off to Maelstrom over the weekend. It still fixable but is going to take more effort than I thought to re-build the index file.
Thank's for your patience guys.
Right we've got a serious problem, the entire index file for General LRP has disappeared into thin air. The posts haven't been deleted but we have no idea which of the several thousand posts we've got stored should be in that index.
I'm currently working on the problem and have several ideas, however this is not going to be fixed within an hour or two *crosses fingers* I'm hoping I'll be able to sort something on Thursday as I've got the day off before Maelstrom.
Check back here for updates as they happen.
[update 22:30hrs] Right it's fixable and I've identified the messages which should be in General LRP. Now all I need to do is rebuild the index file from them. No idea how long thats going to take, I'll need to test some stuff out tommorrow and I should be able to give people an eta on that.

It's fun to see journalists scrape the bottom of the barrel. This report, from the Independent, looks serious.
It implies that the nation is so poorly educated that they think that the Lord of the Rings movies were based in history. It's only when you get to the last sentence
Fictional events that we believe did take place- 'Battlestar Galactica , the defeat of humanity by cyborgs - 1 per cent'
that you realise that this is just a rather shoddy little bit of research and publicity for Blenheim Palace, dressed up with the usual 'Proles are stupid' sentiments that the broadsheets suffer from.
I mean, everyone knows that the Cylon wars ended in the Eighties.
And they're now saying that Roman Legions had head lice, I don't believe a word of it. Gonchongs I tell you, Gonchongs.
My Maelstrom Pack hasn't turned up yet. It's Tuesday. No assuarances or deadlines have been set. I'm actually more worried than if they'd missed the their targeted posting date.
It's hardly, well, professional. To me, the word professional means meeting targets with in an way that seems effortless, being ready for any disruption and still keeping to schedule. So far, this has not been professional.
To be honest, I'm not that worried about the packs, but the lammies. The big hate I had with omega was having to wait for one of those mood breaking bits of plastic, and if the packs aren't sorted, what does that say about the many lammies the system needs. We shall see how it goes.

Ghosts of Albion RPG is on it's way. Wonder if they'll do an actual TV show...
Also, the expansion to Lunch Money, Sticks and Stones is out. Don't hold your breath about getting a copy in the UK as Atlas never make enough of these things.
And finally, shooting aliens, X-com stylee. Looks fun, though I'm currently jaded with the whole online gaming thang.
